Mountain Lion drops support for several older Mac models
This means the following Macs which are supported under OS X Lion will not be able to run Mountain Lion (model identifiers in parentheses):
Late 2006 iMacs (iMac5,1, iMac5,2, iMac6,1)
All plastic MacBooks that pre-date the aluminum unibody redesign (MacBook2,1, MacBook3,1, MacBook4,1)
MacBook Pros released prior to June 2007 (MacBookPro2,1, MacBookPro2,2)
The original MacBook Air (MacBookAir1,1)
The Mid-2007 Mac mini (Macmini2,1)
The original Mac Pro and its 8-core 2007 refresh (MacPro1,1, MacPro2,1)
Late 2006 and Early 2008 Xserves (Xserve1,1, Xserve2,1)
Software products branded with our badge shown above identify applications which are too powerful to be sold on Apple's Mac® App Store℠.
Such a program is fully featured and does not fall under the restrictions imposed on “Apps”. The design of the application is oriented at user-friendlyness and carefully weighs the demands of professional customers against the skills of home users who are not interested in technical details.
Advantages
Software branded with this badge offers the following advantages:
The application has not been censored by the Mac App Store. It offers a complete, non-restricted feature set.
The application can be installed on computers in high-security environments which are not connected to the Internet.
You can purchase licenses for the application in any country.
You can be sure that the application will remain operational for an unlimited time, independent of the lifetime of the Mac App Store.
Updates for the application can be published without delay if this should be necessary. A quick reaction on external events, e.g. maintaining compatibility with third-party software, legal changes, Internet threats, etc. is possible.
Apple and Mac are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. App Store is a service mark of Apple Inc."
Yes. Along with your comment there is a question for both developers and customers : will there be an Apple life outside the Stores (App & iTunes) in a near future ? How long the Mac (and its OS) will remain different from a big iPad ?
So, you know the way Tim cooks you. OK.
Then, for users, as SJ had the habit to hammer during the keynotes : "Amazing, you can buy!". Great.
One more thing, there are other voices, don't know if they'll be able to sing freely for a long time, but they try :
e.g. "Full software, not an App!"

"Their official Elmedia Player Uninstaller is located at h**p://www.eltima.com/download/elmedia_player_uninstaller.zip
This uninstaller does what you would think, however it is designed like a regular "installer".
Don't be put off, it does remove the files, its just the developers are a little different in how they wrote the text for this app.
Despite it uninstalling the Elmedia Player application it still leaves behind several folders and files (some empty) that you might want to purge from your system.
They are:
/Library/Application Support/ElmediaPlayer/ /private/var/db/receipts/com.eltima.elmediaPlayerUninstaller.ElmediaPlayerUninstallerSource.pkg.bom /private/var/db/receipts/com.eltima.elmediaPlayerUninstaller.ElmediaPlayerUninstallerSource.pkg.plist /Users//Library/Application Support/Eltima Software/Elmedia Player /Users//Library/Application Support/Eltima Software/Elmedia Player/EMPHistory.xml /Users//Library/Application Support/Eltima Software/Elmedia Player/EMPLibrary.xml /Users//Library/Application Support/Growl/Tickets/Elmedia Player.growlTicket /Users//Library/Preferences/com.Eltima.ElmediaPlayer.plist
I do hope this helps anyone. Cheers"
Thanks to Richard Muscat @ macinside :
h**p://www.macinside.info/process.php?id=2467
This allows the Mac to have a clean "uninstall" and get rid of the empdaemon process.
Not to uninstall such a file allows it to continue to hog CPU resources, after the app has been trashed.
BTW the low rating is for the Uninstaller which can be not the best part of your app.
Sorry.
On one hand the uninstaller hasn't done his job successfully at the time of my post. On the other hand, as often with those kind of problems, it can happen to one peculiar Mac one time.
Can't say more. Sorry. The good thing is to see that the developer has taken the time to answer. Despite this, I have not tried to reinstall this app until now.
The things as they are. Putting aside the privacy implications how to know if it's reliable or not? In short, how to know if you have to trust it or not? For most of the softwares that I am using responsiveness from the developers is a kind of basic test to know if they merit my confidence and my money. I have emailed the Dropbox Team three times about a silly referral problem without any answer. Same silence with a post on their forum. Maybe Dropbox guys reserve their answers for their paying customers. Well, just my experience.
NOT Compatible
There are significant changes in Snow Leopard that seriously impact You Control: Desktops. A number of features of the application are not functional. At this time, we are unable to commit to supporting You Control: Desktops on Snow Leopard. We will continue to support existing users on earlier versions of the Mac OS.
Have emailed the Technical Support about it on the 29 of May without any response yet, in spite of their:
"It's been sent! Thank you for submitting your support request. We will reply as soon as possible -- usually within one working day."

e.g. TotalFinder's dual pane file browser gives an exact mirror which in a lot of situations can be more useful than the one on PF.
Plus, the Dev is very friendly.
