Citrix ICA Client

Hickey reviewed on 02 Sep 2010
This ICA client from Citrix is a horrid application. Very typical of a Windows centric company to produce crappy software that does not do anything rational that a user wants to do. The basic problems are:

1. Instead of creating one application you have an ICA client and a connection editor. You can not create the connection document from the client! You first must create it from the editor (even for temporary connections)!!!

2. Once you start the ICA client, it does nothing! Not even bring up the open dialog box to read a connection document. Heck, you might even thing that you did not start it and sit there trying to start it again.

3. The connection documents are not connected in any way to the ICA binary so you can not double click on them and start up the ICA client with the specified connection. You can not drag a connection document to the ICA client icon either.

4. Upon starting an ICA connection, one gets about 8 errors about trying to print a document. WTF! Where did that one come from?

5. Closing a connection is not that intuitive either.....

All around just a bad implementation of an ICA client. Makes me want to go get a frontal lobotomy just so I can be like all the other Windows users that use sub par software.
