Apple iWork

Hafdis reviewed on 30 Sep 2011
iWork with who? I can't export or read Open Document format so it's very difficult to collaborate effectively with the rest of my office or many others. I'm forced to use OpenOffice and I hate it. The program is a total kludge and just a pain in the ass to use.

Keynote rocks, but unfortunately it doesn't play nicely with the rest of the world. Apple talks a lot about Open Source but let's face it their track record sucks.

Fontcase

Hafdis reviewed on 20 Jun 2011
This program looks nice and functions quite poorly. There isn't auto-activation for InDesign (I'm using CS 5.5) and when you attempt to activate from within the program you get prolonged spinning beachballs, (it manages to crash Safari at the same time too!) and you have to force quit the program.

I'm not happy I 'upgraded' from Version 1.5. What did I pay extra money for? All I got was terrible performance and new non-descript new features. I really want to like this program but I've got no more time to waste. FontExplorerX here I come.

SOHO Notes

Hafdis reviewed on 12 Mar 2011
Soho Notes is not ready for prime-time. The performance issues are just too much to deal with. I've been plagued by constant spinning beach balls and progressive memory leaks. It actually bogs my machine down. Even on my Quad-core MacPro with 9GBs of RAM it is slow, slow, SLOW.

This software should never have been released. It is not throughly tested and not ready for daily use. Do not waste your money as this program is incapable of supporting your daily workflow.

FruitMenu
Hafdis commented on 26 Sep 2010
Unsanity does not respond to messages, you shouldn't buy software from a company with absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I bought FruitMenu and the program doesn't even allow me to register my code prompting me that my software is invalid and unregistered. I wrote 2x to Unsanity and never received a response. Nothing. While I like FruitMenu I can't recommend doing business with Unsanity, they haven't a clue how customer service works.

Adobe Dreamweaver CS6

Hafdis reviewed on 31 May 2010
There are literally buttons everywhere. Coding in DW is not an elegant or enjoyable experience. You'd think they'd at least have tab-triggered code snippets like nearly every other editor but you'd be wrong.

I wish I could like this program. I paid for it with my CS5 upgrade and just like when I upgraded to CS4, I'd thought I'd fire it up and see what was new. This program should be taken behind the barn and shot. It's a an old bloated pig.

Apple needs to step up to the plate and create a development environment for today's web. I'm all for the death of Flash and all that, but Steve should stop talking and start walking.

Cover Stream

Hafdis reviewed on 14 Dec 2009
I like this app, but it's fairly slow. I constantly get a spinning beach-ball when using with Snow Leopard. Also, I thought there was lyric support, but I haven't been able to find any options for displaying lyrics anywhere in the application.
