Transmission's interface is great in comparison to most other bittorrent clients. And it's free. However, there are a couple of drawbacks to this app.
Firstly, there are problems with reactivating downloads. When performing a file check, the program skips data. The download then resumes much earlier along the line than it was when you paused the download. Very annoying, especially when it concerns a large file. I've had it multiple times, addressed it in the Transmission forums and received no answer.
Secondly, a minor issue. Transmission supports download queueing and you can of course designate files within the torrent for downloading, but I think Azureus has a far better solution for that. Changing torrent priority in Azureus is more effective, and you can pick the files to download before activating the torrent. In Transmission, you do this after activating, which is not so handy when you only want one or several files.
I had to watch out, though. The first time, CCC found a corrupt file it asked me about. That can happen. But when I pressed the Ignore-button, it just skipped my entire Apps folder and continued copying the rest of my drive. That process could not be stopped, as force quitting CCC did not stop the copying! I had to Log Out instead.
The second time everything went well, save for the folders in my User Home it made invisible. Why?
After updating my system to 10.4.11 Safari wouldn't start. Only after I deleted the SafariStand files from my computer, everything functioned properly again.
Please provide an update for the application, because it is very useful. Thanks!
