I have a licensed copy of LIttle Snitch and it pretty much works as it is supposed to work. I use it whenever I add software that I'm a bit uncertain about, to see where it phones home.
What I can't understand is why all of the comments and reviews that are anything other than complimentary are getting consistently marked down in the comments. While the reviewers come to a somewhat negative conclusion, their remarks seem well thought out and even-handed. These are not trolls just hammering the software for no apparent reason, so why bump them down?
Makes me wonder if the negative marks are well-meaning fanboys who will hear no evil about their beloved Little Snitch, or if it's part of an effort by the developer to push negative reviews down the list. I trust that it's just fanboys, but they aren't doing the developer any favors.
Let's give the software on MacUpdate our honest assessment, and let the individual make the final decision about whether or not it's right for them.
Really nice app, but I'm disappointed that the "automatic update" deletes the free version, then puts up a nag screen to tell you to buy it the first time you run it after updating.
I'm always willing to pay for good software, but I don't care for the bait and switch. Please at least warn me before "improving" free software to demo software. I suppose I could just restore the free version from backup, but for now, I think I'll switch back to Disk Inventory X (free), or even pay for OmniDiskSweeper ($14.95) rather than reward this way of doing business.
Again, love the software, don't care for the business approach. I don't blame the developer for wanting to make some money, but they should be upfront about what they are doing.
Looks like a nice app, but it seems to have broken the cut and paste when using Dashboard on my system. I assume that this happens because it is intercepting Command X and Command V (since Dashboard runs under the Finder process. I thought about changing the shortcuts on the Preference dialog, but it looks like that would break some of the functionality.

Anyway, I'm glad you can reproduce it and are looking into it. Thanks for being so responsive. I'm on my way to license my copy now!
