As a developer of web-appz Firefox is the best tool for me for debugging and checking our applications. For day to day surfing I prefer Safari and Google Chrome
After years of bloated MS-Office, iWork feels like really well thought. I'm a light user and don't really miss any features except maybe for an even better import of the Office files. And at this price, and such a flexible family license...
Bloated for me is just too many features, too many menu's, too many buttons. It creates a steep learning curve. I've used Word when in I was @ the Uni (version 4 IIRC) and it was a really great tool that did everything I wanted in a very user friendly way. I didn't use it for a long time but needed it a few years ago, bought the latest version and it felt just bloated... I had to dig into so many menu's for very simple things, had to google to find how I could turn off annoying preferences... Pages was easy to learn and does everything I need!
My motto is 'less is more' and IMHO Apple is very successful at that both in software and user interfaces. A lot of people don't get it... Eg some say: my Windows Mobile/Android phone can do this and that and that is nog possible on an iPhone, so the iPhone is crap... I do agree that some features are still missing but for me the whole experience counts. My previous phone allowed me to text via BluePhoneElite from my Mac, which was very handy, I still miss that on my iPhone but like I said the whole experience is so satisfying that I would never go back to that old phone! The same can be said for Pages/Word for me
