MaxMenus
Gavinque commented on 16 Jul 2011
My first "comment" on MU after using it for so many years. :)

MaxMenus back in the day was perfect for my workflow, I could barely live without it on my mac. Sadly it's been a shadow of it's former self, little or no updates, zero new features and the Dev's website; well thats another issue entirely.

I thank the makers of MaxMenus for the effort, and I know that some may be single persons that are developing various softwares like this one all on their own and I applaud them for that. However, it makes Dev's look bad and gives the whole idea of "shareware" a bad name when they seem to abandon their programing efforts especially when making it a commercial product. I have kept MaxMenu's installed from version to version of Mac OS in hopes of seeing some improvements but haven't seen anything. I've never enabled it under 10.6 and when 10.7 hits mac app store, I guess I'll give it a try (maybe). I do miss using it a lot and hope that all is well with the developer (I know life can get in the way if your single programer making a product) and maybe one day we'll see a revamped version that will be the envy of all OS X utilities. Personally I've tried others and the structure of this utility seems to fit me far better than any other.
