Dropbox

Garyi reviewed on 25 May 2012
Well, recently I have tried google drive, skydrive and tonido sync.

The fact is, drop box is the fastest and actually works. None of the above worked. Sky drive being particularly bad at even understanding files had changed.

I don't like drop boxes pricing policy, its daft. But at the end of the day, you get what you pay for, and dropbox, put simply works.

SkyDrive

Well I seem to be the only one, but this service is cripplingly slow. I am on a 50Mb/s connection but download never peeks above 200kb/s it literally takes hours to download and upload the smallest of files.

Running 10.7.4. Even took the effort to do a clean OS onto a clean HD and try again, but still stupid slow. I guess its a UK thing. But not greatly impressed, especially as I paid for the upgrade

Hi can anyone confirm if sending attachments from this apps make it successfully to Outlook for PC?

I am forced to use Outlook for mac because sending files from mail.app is flakey at best. Wondered if this handled attachments OK so I can ditch outlook.

Sadly does not work with my works IMAP, just keeps saying fetching 1-45 of 190 round and round in circles but does not actually receive any mails.

On to the next one!

Nope its not having it, the activity monitor is going so quick its hard to tell whats happening, but in essence it just says downloading 1 of 195 through to 45 of 195 (really quick) then reverts to 1 of 195 and through again, over and over. But no emails appear.

Does anyone know how to make XLD put artists on a compilation into the album folder as opposed to loads of individual folders being create with a single song in each? This is most frustrating.

Are there plans to release a version that does not crash all the time?

I love this programme except when there is data on the cd. Some audio cds have a little bit of data at the end such as a flash movie or some such and on these XLD really cannot cope on the last track it slows right down until you realise the last track is going to take infinity to finish and you have to cancel the rip at that point.

This is just a minor problem for such a great bit of software.

I'm going to give it a longer try but I am struggling with just how busy someone needs to be to not have time to drag their pointer to the top.

The primary concern for me is how it looks when you move a window, that there is not a good look.

Some of these reviews are a bit unreal man, the guy below me has written an entire book about this utility humm..

Long and short is I tried it for around 30 seconds. Nasty.
