PatchBurn
G3 Enthusiast had trouble on 03 Sep 2008
I have a G3 OSX (10.4), with 768 MB mem. and patchburn 4.0.5 running a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-112D on a firewire 400 port.
The unit was working fine until one day it would present this problem for burning:

BE Error - Sense Error
(02h,04h,08h) Not ready
Logical unit not ready, long write in progress

Thinking the unit broke, I checked it with another mac and it worked fine.

The firewire ports work fine with external HD and all other gadgets.

The burning process just stops, the busy light stops blinking but the unit seems to have the disk spinning for a while until it stops and shows the error.

I have guessed that the firmware of the unit may be faulty. Can it be updated?

Thank you for any insights.
