SOHO Notes
Frank H. Wu commented on 10 Aug 2006
I was so glad I discovered this thread of commentary on Soho Notes. I, too, was a happy user of StickyBrain. I was a light user, but a happy one -- maybe a few notes a week of stuff. Then I updated to Soho Notes. A few days later I start to get messages about sync problems. By the time I took action, I was getting these a half-dozen times a day. But I didn't realize it was Soho Notes. Sure enough, though, it was. As soon as I uninstalled it, the problems stopped. But when I uninstalled it, it took along my entire Apple AddressBook -- good thing I backed up that same day. Anyway, I hate to pile on when there's already such a list of negative reviews. However, I believe it's important to warn other potential users of a serious problem. Too bad. It was a very nice program in the previous versions.

RSSOwl
Frank H. Wu commented on 01 Jan 2006
I've used NewsFire, Vienna, NetNewsWire and Opera's RSS feature, in that order of frequency. I just discovered RSSOwl. It works very well, but it has one flaw (unless I just haven't figured it out), which is it doesn't seem to save the feeds. When you close the program or go offline, only the feeds you've opened retain their content. I'm not sure why that is, but it's the only problem with what otherwise is an elegant, speedy, and quite capable program.
