The app works as advertised and the price is reasonable but not when you have to buy new version when you upgrade your machine. Why not implement an activation procedure that voids any previous installations of the software on a single user license?
Practically perfect in every way. Not only does it handle high definition MKVs with so much more grace than VLC, it also opens some files that simply cause VLC to crash.
However, I do have one complaint and that is that even with AC3 and DTS pass-thru enabled, it will not communicate with my JVC RX-5052 receiver over optical.
If the developers of this wonderful media player can fix this issue, I'll drop VLC forever. Promise.
I love this software, it's so seamless that I often forget I have it installed. I am able to write to NTFS volumes so quickly and easily right from the Finder, and the only visible trace of the software is a preference pane, where you can manually disable the driver (should you need to).
Perfect if you have an NTFS Boot Camp volume running Vista or Win 7.
It still baffles me that Apple don't offer NTFS write functionality in OS X. I think it's about time, what with the switch to Intel, Boot Camp, and the influx of Windows users that are currently switching to Macs.
As noted in other comments, improvements could made to directions. I'd also like to able to measure the distance of a straight line or path. And an option to set default units (something Google Earth is missing).
Quick tip for those wanting to play this game with a controller that has no Mac drivers. ControllerMate allows you to map keyboard and mouse functions to virtually any USB controller or joystick. It saved my life when I discovered that my Logitech controller didn't work in OS X. It costs $15 for the full version but it's well worth every penny.
This client needs some serious work on GUI behaviour. For my conferencing needs all its features seem to work but I don't use email or instant message. What annoys me the most is that it won't remember window sizes and positions once they've been closed or when the program is quit. Please fix this! I waste so much time resizing windows when I could be reading messages. The whole program is also a bit sluggish which it shouldn't be as its not exactly Final Cut Pro.
A very nice media player when paired with Perian - much more stable than VLC, I've found. However, I would love to see a "get info" window/inspector giving detailed technical information about the file (a/v tracks, bit rate, fps, codec, etc).
With that little feature and improved playlists I would get rid of VLC altogether.
This is a very nice player!

To turn off, type:

And try Glims if you want an all-in-one plugin that gives you every option under the sun and more.
