Media 100 is still the most intuitive professional editing system on the Mac platform. The stability and the reliability of the workflow is outstanding, which is extremely important for us as a professional video post house, dealing with many hours of footage per week.
With the transition to the Aja hardware the system now runs on the industry-standard Kona boards, as well as without hardware with the Media 100 Producer version.
In V12, the Boris Plugins like RED and BorisFX are integrated much more tightly into the workflow of Media 100, and additionally many new video framerates and formats are supported. Plus, the ability to mix different codecs in the same timeline in full quality in realtime has been extended to include Apple ProRes and Cineform, so that you can mix a wide range of compressed and uncompressed codecs in the same timeline and master them back to tape without rendering.
Overall, Media 100 V 12 is a very reliable and stable editing system with many great new features and excellent support.
