It is a great enhancement to Mail.app: no more worrying whether users of MS Exchange and/or Outlook will be able to see and open my attachments. It is possible to avoid this by changing settings in Mail.app, but then you will not be able to send RTF-messages, just plain text.

And, while I never use that much of textual extras, an occasional numbered or dotted list, a word in bold or italic, will greatly enhance the readability of your text.
