Is Ver. 11.63 a Beta? According to the app;s header on macupdate, the beta is ver. 12.
Also, my review pointed out my machine and operating system because its crashing might be not a general problem.
Third, other browser betas, such as Chrome and Firefox, don't crash on my computer with anything near to the frequency that Opera has crashed on mine.
Just initial impressions, but much improved. More stable, but not as stable as the other browser biggies and much reduced memory leak. So far, so good.
This is a very interesting alternative browser. Try it out. But I do have a serious problem with it. The only gesture that is working for me is moving between tabs - that's great, but the other gestures are not working at all. I try to re-load a page using the clockwise circular gesture and nothing happens.
This browser has progressed and I'm enjoying using it. One minor point directed at the developer … Why doesn't Google's new background images work on their igoogle page? Also the full screen page doesn't work like it does with many other apps optimized for OS Lion.
I'm also finding Browser's Full Screen mode a little perplexing. While the app does fill the screen, the actual browser remains unexpectedly reduced in size, unlike Safari, Chrome, or Firefox. It defeats the whole appeal of full screen mode.
As a loyal mac user of many years, I've tried very hard to stick it out with Safari, but I grew tired of the beach balls and have finally surrendered (today) to the power of Chrome. It's fast. It looks good. It renders pages as well as anyone. It's stable. Yes, it does slow appreciably with more than 10 tabs open, but that's it's only important problem. As for google spying, none of our actions on the web are protected from prying eyes, whether they be the government's or a communications company, so just get over it. If you want to hide your actions, then stay offline.
I've been a super-enthusiastic Snapseed user on my iPhone and even in a working that environment that small, it's fantastic. All the same features have now been ported onto the Mac and it's simply incredible. While I would not go as far as to say that it's a Photoshop Replacement (it doesn't try to be), it does do most of the essential image modifications in a way that is brilliant and creative.
Very ironic. A once very popular and compelling and hugely distinctive Mac Browser comes out with its first public upgrade in over a year ostensibly to incorporate Lion OS Yet it cannot go full screen and doesn't make use any of the Lion screen gestures. Could it be an Omnijoke?
I downloaded MacJournal and everything went perfectly. However, I cannot edit an image once its inserted into a journal entry. Scaling functions do not appear to work. As a result, I can't use MacJournal for blogging.
I did just that and it did correct the problem. Now if I could only figure out to have images show up in my wordpress blog through MacJournal, I would be a very "happy camper".
MacJournal 6 is not quite ready for 'prime' time. It's handling of photo media is less than poor. App cannot scale images and often crashes when asked to scale. I'm sure that this is something that the developers can correct, but until they do stick with MarsEdit if you're intending to use MacJournal for blogging.
Downloaded Opera 11.6 yesterday I liked it, but with one BIG caveat. With the same tabs open it used 25% of CPU on my Macbook Pro compared to Safari's 5.1.2 using between 1 and 3%. Sticking with Safari.
The open pages were igoogle, gmail, macupdate, and Facebook. I've tried this several times and the memory use begins to rise very quickly, topping off at around 25+ of CPU, which compares to about 3-4% with Firefox 9, Safari 5.1.2, and Chrome 16 (ish).
