I disagree with you. I'm a small biz owner (just myself) as well.
I tried Contactizer several times and was almost ready to buy it when 10.5.2 came out. Then it quit working with some weird error that their devs couldn't even figure out. Their response was finally to reformat the drive and see if that works. There were several more cases of the same error in the forums.
Reformat my drive to try software? Don't get me wrong. Contactizer is a good product that competes well.
That's when I tried Daylite and after about 30 days of using it, I purchased it and haven't looked back. It does exactly what I want it to do and more.
I even use the custom form feature to add to the product to track my company software purchases and license numbers which were haphazardly stored in email flagged by Mailtags.
Now I keep what I can stored in Daylite so when backing up, it's in one DB.
A downside to Contactizer is that it will not sync custom recurring calendar events which in hindsight, I'm glad I purchased Daylite instead because that is a REAL plus. Another great feature of Daylite is their plugin architecture. They have plugins for Billings and another accounting system along with other misc. programs.
While Contactizer is a solid product, Daylite has been more flexible for my needs. Evaluate both products (you need at least 30 days with both products to understand how they flow) then decide.
If iCal sync for custom recurring events and syncing with other apps is reuqired, then Daylite may be what you need.
I purchased this product and didn't receive the email registration instructions and key. Emailed the author and have yet to hear back. Just be warned, the financial transaction happens quick but you don't get the product as quickly.
One of those rare utilities that provide value and a VERY reasonable cost. I travel and having the PHP function index and lookup available with a keystroke from BBEdit is to cool.
I purchased this product because ALLTEL is now offering a Motorola Q. If I had know that support was non-existent, I probably would have stuck with my Razr.
After initially purchasing my Moto Q I was happy with the software until I tried to get support from them. Wow, talk about terrible support!
I used the support request form from the MSpace web site and it took 4 days to get a response. The question was regarding the Mount feature not working.
Their answer was to do it another way and that response was cryptic at best leaving me further confused. So, I'm stuck with a product that partially works. I responded back and 2 days later, no response!
My advice, don't purchase the product until the company decides that customer support is just as important as sales!
I run my own web design and hosting business. If I supported my customers this way, I would be out of business.
I have been running MAMP for a while and editing config files, hosts files, etc. since I develop web sites locally. This inexpensive tool made that SO much easier. Another benefit is that MAMP Pro actually moves your DB's to /Libarary/xxx making upgarding the MAMP core files (Apache, PHP, etc.) a breeze!
If you put a value on your time, then this product is worth the money. MAMP Pro 1.1 and MAMP 1.5b1 work nicely together. The nice thing about MAMP 1.5b1 is that it now includes the Intel ZEND Optimizer which I had to code in the php.ini by hand before. No more...
The 1.0b19 has a broken install. It says nothing to install when you try to install it on 10.4.7. :-( Good thing I have a working copy already installed. I can live without this handy tool!
