Shame on Apple, shame on Steve Jobs (posthum), shame on Tim Cook et al. that the open/save dialogs of Mac OS 10.0 till 10.5.8 show no pic/doc previews natively.
An absolute must-have since the nineties. Only the strange appearance of labelled filenames is still not solved: http://www.fnarr.net/fp/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=208#p904
When I open it, the app shows and empty doc and many tools, but all tools stay grey (unusable), so I have to search through the menu items to do something, but futile. The only usable item is "Help > Documentation" which closes (!) my empty doc and opens a mindmap explaining commands that simply do not work. One of the hardest-to-use and most user-unfriendly apps I've ever met. Should be called "UnfreeMind" instead! While so much great, self-explaining GUIs exist since the nineties, this 2012 app sux cog.
Great and interesting alternative to Apple's ActivityMonitor. But why can atMonitor only run from within the Applications folder (and not from an external drive etc.)? And why does it absolutely (!) require the sysadmin password just to run (the "reason" in its HelpText sounds not convincing at all)? And why can't it purge the RAM without CHUD (part of Apple's Xcode) installed? iFreeMem 3.x etc. can purge your RAM perfectly without CHUD. I dunno why iFreeMem cannot be found here on MU.
Simply the best free cpu+hd+ram+net infobar. Just one thing: the hd menu sometimes lists the mounted volumes not alphabetically ("HD3, HD1, HD2" instead of "HD1, HD2, HD3"), so an option to do so would be great.
Best, fastest, easiest PicViewer so far. Remembers the favourite window size and position when set in preferences and can crop, play, rename, move, delete etc.pp. Much better than Apple's QuickView.
Just one feature request: I'm missing a button/shortcut (e.g. ctr-sft-1 to ctr-sft-8) to choose a pic's Finder label color (1–8) in Xee. Please...^^
What can I say. It can handle everything a system clock should handle (all date formats etc.) ... except: Alarm/alert timers would make it perfect showing a memo window when a special user-defined time has come. =)
This Monopoly game is completely a Flash 9 application and running fine (windowed or fullscreen). Typography and illustrations are not so good, but work. One big annoying bug is that the window which shows the computer opponent's action only appears for 0.1 sec. so you cannot read what he did.
VLC 1.1.8, PPC, OSX.5.8: If I change "Prefs >Hotkeys >LongJumpBackwards:alt-sft-cmd-lft" to "LongJumpBackwards:c" and click "Save", then this shortcut "c" does not work. Instead, the shortcut "Prefs >Hotkeys >LongJumpBackwards:alt-sft-cmd-lft" reappears in the list. BIG BUG! And: If I change "Prefs >Hotkeys >(*) Basic" to "Prefs >Hotkeys >(*) All", then the hotkey list shows popup menus which cannot be clicked/changed. Why?
I watch fullscreen and always place the controlpanel into the buttom right monitor edge. But the next time I start VLC, the controlpanel is in the middle again. Why, why, why...? Can't it even save a simple panel position? (PPC1.1.5)
"Currently unavailable"? "Discontinued"? "Previously here" link broken? So please can somebody upload his copy of this freeware somewhere and link it here? Thanks...
2.1.2 only says "atMonitor could not obtain required resources ... Please copy it to Apps folder and relaunch", but after doing so, the message reappears. Same with 2.1.4; I'm using OSX.5.8 on PPC G4 1250MHz.
xGestures is still the best mouse gesture app for Macs, but unfortunately it causes a jerky mouse arrow movement in games like Diablo II, Baldur's Gate II etc. When I deactivate xGestures, then those games' mouse arrow movement is smooth again.
Yes, thank you all. As aforesaid I was complaining because unfortunately it caused a jerky mouse arrow movement in games like Diablo II, Baldur's Gate II etc. But the "exclude" function deactivates that.
