A good product, but has some deal breaking flaws. The primary one is that it can't upload files larger than 16kb to some web hosts. Its FTP system truncates them. Developer is aware of this, and has been for some time. No fix and no timeline to get it fixed.

Checking out Coda and others, not because I want to but because I have to. This software just no longer works in our environment.

Launch bar and others can do the same basic stuff. Switched when the developer reneged on the free updates for all version 2.x. Then switched v2.5 to be 3.0 to get out of her deal to make all 2.x updates free. The kicker...she herself said this would be wrong to do, then did it when the only other option was to actually make good and provide an update to 2.5 outside the mac app store.

She clearly chose to stick it to customers, go back on her word, and in her own words "lie" and call this v3.

I've used iBank, Cha Ching, Quicken, and a few others. MoneyWell is the best.

Direct connect works with Bank of America (you have to pay for it though), Chase (free for my CC account) and AMEX (free). Simple to set up and get working. If it doesn't, you probably are using the wrong log in info.

The bucket system is also very useful. Sure you can track accounts, but seeing how much you hve left to spend in buckets is so much more useful than account balances.

The support is top notch. The guys reply in hours or minutes. They are very friendly, but human. Give them time!

1.6 and the iPhone app are great together. I can't wait for new features in the iPhone app, v2.0 and the new look and the iPad app. Keep it up guys!

The Hit List

The Hit List does many things well. It does not do other things very well, and certainly has some bugs. Data loss to name one that is a serious issue with any software.

However the developer has ceased working on it. Sure every now and then a post on twitter or in the Google group will say "still working, be patient". But thats it. Just a post. No new versions, no iPhone app as promised. Nada. Sorry, but a photoshop mockup does not count.

Long story short...this App should be avoided by new buyers. Those who already put down money for it can of course continue to use it. I STRONGLY recomend people buy from developers with proven records of support, development, and dedication. This app has seen none of those. Just plenty of cashed checks from unsuspecting buyers.

Awkward data entry, poor budget support, little bugs and glitches that have gone unfixed for months. UI is very pretty, but resource hog. Makes using the program slow and tedious at times. I really wanted to like it, but it just isn't a great money manager. Its more show than anything.
