I can't say enough about little snitch, it's by far the best outgoing firewall. It's so easy to use, excellently coded and integrated. Using this with the built in firewall you're golden.

I generally set a rule forever, once you've done that it doesn't pop up and ask you every time. If you ever got a virus on your mac that phoned home for instructions or tried to upload your personal information to the internet this'd stop it dead in its tracks. It's just invaluable. Like I said you can set a rule then forget about it, so once you've opened an app, confirmed its safe then everything is good.

I can't remember how long I've had this, definitely years. I have never once had a spot of trouble with it. No crashes no bugs nothing, it just does what it says really well and doesn't bother you.

One of the essentials along with quicksilver, safari and mail! This is the first thing I install on macs and the first thing I'd suggest anyone to install. For the price its well worth it. I'd pay a lot more.
