Best diff and merge tool I've used on OS X. FileMerge is long in the tooth, and pretty much everything else is abandonware or overpriced Java crap. Kaleidoscope is cute and all, but not nearly as functional (can't do merges or folder comparisons). The developer of DiffFork provides fantastic customer service as well. Give it a download, and you can try it for 15 individual days (not 15 calendar days).
Negatives: I sometimes wish there was a third text pane for doing complex merges, more along the lines of FileMerge.
I'm a Plex user. On Snow Leopard I've been launching Plex from Front Row, but of course Lion doesn't have Front Row. I wanted something *way* more straightforward than Remote Buddy for launching and interacting with Plex (and perhaps other applications) via my Apple remote.
Enter Mira. Much simpler, something perhaps my Mother could use. I was able to launch Plex via the remote without any issues. However, a new version of Plex had just come out (0.9.5) and Plex changed their keymappings in a way that no longer worked with Mira. So I couldn't really use Mira with the new version of Plex. Time to email the developer.
Long story short, the developer went above and beyond to create a solution that enabled full functionality with the new version of Plex, and corresponded with the Plex developers as well to attempt a more native solution. Where that will go is still to be determined, but as a user I no longer need to know any of this, Mira just works with Plex!
Now I can upgrade to Lion without fear of missing Front Row.
I've tried just about every window snapping app, in my opinion this is the best of the bunch. Very tweakable: it has a preference to increase the "snapping recognition areas" which is perfect for multiple monitor setups. It seems like the developer has thought of just about everything.
The license cost makes sense if you compare QuicKeys to the atrocity that is Keyboard Maestro. There's lots to love about QuicKeys, and I was all set to purchase after a short evaluation. However, the overly restrictive licensing (per-machine, not per-user) combined with the network license checking mechanism were deal breakers for me. I sent in feedback detailing my concerns – and was eventually told that this is the license scheme they've been using since 1987.
