I have a Giganews account and was using Mimo which was made to interact with Giganews natively and was very easy to use. However, I found it to be very buggy, slow, and was not mac native at all. I do not have a lot of experience with Usenet sites and wanted something more native mac-like and something that was easy.
Needless to say, I tried NZBdrop and Unison of which I apparently had no idea what the heck I was doing and couldn't figure out to download anything (I do not want to blame the developers, but like I stated, I do not have experience with Usenet. My concern was that Panic's stand was that Unison "just works" - yeah if you are an expert with NZB's and Usenet I guess).
Anyhow, I am using the trial right now and am definitely going to buy this I think. All I need to do is search what I am looking for and download it. It is that easy. My only concern was that when I download with Mimo, it is showing a consistent speed of 11-12MB and with this it is fluctuating a lot. (My guess is that Mimo may not be reading the speeds accurately which i wouldn't be surprised - if anyone has any suggestions, I am all ears).
Update - I have purchased this product and am very happy. Even though the download speed isn't as consistent as Mimo (I am still getting 11-12MB download speeds, it just fluctuates sometimes), it is a much better native Mac OS app. Plus Mimo is an unstable piece of crap anyways.
How many people are not going to read the past threads?!?! It DOES NOT NEED A UNIVERSAL BINARY! IT IS JAVA!! For petes sake people, stop using that as a 'minus'. Know what you are saying before speaking.
To the last poster - If you would go to the website and find out why this app is made, you could actually try and back up your comments. This is for phones that iSync does not yet (or never will) play nice with. Not all SE phones play nice with iSync.
I have tried them all. Quicken, Liquid Ledger, Moneydance, etc, and this by far is one of the best financial managers for the Mac currently. The interface is full blown cocoa, the graphs are nice and detailed, and the ability to retain images for transactions is fantastic. Also has a very good set of features with more to come I am sure.
One thing that would help would be a direct connect feature for banks so you do not have to download transactions manually, which there has been some rumbling about.
The developers are quick to respond to anything support related and this is a great app that I recommend.
