Color Labels

Civ reviewed on 01 Jun 2010
Just got this little app. It works well in OS X 10.6.3 and does what it says, namely to apply a color tinge to any file or folder icon. it can also be combined with any of the standard Apple labels. The developer was also extremely prompt to reply the same day to a query of mine.
Five stars from me.

OmniDazzle

Civ reviewed on 01 May 2010
I installed it a few days ago. It works well in Snow Leopard 10.6.3. It has a few nice optional mouse pointer effects for presentations or your own use. It's great to find a "lost" mouse pointer (especially on multiple monitors), or to zoom on a detail. And on top of it, it's free!

I only wish I could hide/remove it from a crowded dock, as it is already available in the main menu bar.

It is however a very useful little utility. I added it to my login items. Five stars from me.

Absolute Backgammon
civ commented on 29 Dec 2005
This is by far the most professional backgammon game I found. I'm playing it since version 3.2 and it is getting better with every upgrade. It complies with most known rules. The playing strength and speed can be adjusted at will. Very good graphics, You can even use the computer's dice roll.

There is however one additional feature I'd love to see in a future upgrade, i.e. match play, with the options to play 3, 7, 13 or user selectable point matches, where the match winner is the player who wins first 3, 7, 13 or user selected points respectively. In this option the stats should count the number of matches won.
