Ugly interface. Messes with your system (it altered my "empty trash" sound), it messed my external LG DVD burner (Mac could not see it). I unistalled it at once and everything got back to normal. I do not trust this app. Sorry.
Slow. Lightroom is light years ahead. I will repeat: slow. Very slow. Slug. Even with 8 GB of RAM, slow. Lightroom: warp. My action: trashed Adobe Aperture and deleted every trace of it on my iMac 27''. My Nikons deserves better. Sorry Apple.
I agree with Kentr on this one. It slowed my system. I noticed my machine was elaborating all the time, it became slow (and it's a new machine, I even did clean reinstall), but then I opened activity monitor and SLCC was eating 100% CPU. I trashed it away, and my Mac is running just fine, no more spinning circle, when I try to open, for instance, System Preferences. I stick with Onyx which is free and it never gave me any problem like SLCC.
VLC media player plays where QuickTime Pro fails. An example of this are displaying of subtitles. Although I have installed Perian, QT is not able to recognize majority of the subtitles in different video formats. VLC has no such problem. Without any additional plug- ins like Perian, this software plays flawlessly. Light, fast, not CPU hungry like QT. VLC is what QT should have become, but unfortunately it did not. And the price is just great. Apple QuickTime Pro cost 30 euros and is unable to present subtitles. VLC is free and displays subtitles without problems.
Running slow even on iMac 27'' 4GB of RAM, 64 bit. Uses too much CPU (three times more than Google Chrome). Eye candy, now with cool extensions, needs to be lighter and faster. Incapable to display some pages (Firefox and Chrome opens the same web pages fast and correctly). When Safari came I was a huge fan, now I am using Google Chrome which for me is the fastest and easiest browser. I would like that Safari gets better, but often I see rainbow spinning circle (Safari is elaborating God knows what on a simple page).
This is a great application. Fun to use, it produces some neat slide shows. Interface is similar to Apple's Keynote. It creates slide show movie, that can be exported in many various and most popular video formats. Excellent integration with iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom, iTunes.
App Store checks your already installed applications, does not allow you to try an application before purchasing, imposes its own sponsored products. You are not in control, Steve Jobs is.
I've written a review about MacKeeper month ago and it have been deleted. In short: aggressive app. This is an application that forces you to install their antivirus program. it does not matter if you have installed another antivirus program, MacKeeper will say that your system is at high risk. It does not matter if you have other anti-thief program, MacKeeper will say that you are unprotected. This program is designed for people who refuse to think and wants to be guided by some automate faceless Deus ex machine.
