****OverDrive Media Software for MAC****
I use OverDrive Media software to borrow audio books from my library.
On MAC OS X (Leopard), on my first download, I got this unfriendly message:
"This version of OverDrive Media Console does not support media in the 'WMA audiobook' format."
As most of the digital library's audio books are WMA format, I have to use my WinXP Netbook to get the job done.
I transfer the audio books to a cheap Sansa Fuze that I use for gym and physical activity. It handles WMA and MP3 formatted files.
Since I don't want to listen to my borrowed audio books on the MAC, I don't understand why the MAC won't even agree to handle the file's licence for future transfer to MP3 device. I am new to MACs. This rivalry between Apple and Microsoft made evident by it's refusal to accept WMA files is affecting my appreciation of the MAC products.
