Adobe Lightroom

Bnz reviewed on 06 Mar 2012
Great update and I am pretty sure that Adobe did good to lower the price. I know I have bought it today with the release of 4.0 while I hesitated all the time before. I am pretty sure that I am not alone with this as there is really a lot to like about Lightroom - it is different in many ways and not the usual Adobe mess.

MacUpdate Desktop

I got the MacUpdate Desktop for the lower price with the MU Promo Bundle. Actually, this is one of the apps i like most of the bundle. It's really useful in telling you how up-to-date your Mac applications are and in some cases even provides a one click update. I find that espcially useful for the widgets. So in summary: much more useful than I expected. It doesn't always work perfectly (for example, it replaced my Elgato Turbo.H264 HD app with the Elgato Turbo.264 app (without HD), but in many cases, it works pretty well. If you got it as well with the bundle, give it a try!

Too expensive. I won't ever consider buying such a tool at this price point. I find $15-$20 is more appropriate for such a tool.

I agree with the comments. The $50 price point is too steep for an application that merely provides some convenience over the command-line. Most people i know run subversion together with a trac installation anyway, so most other useful features like the well arranged timeline are present already. I hope the authors will change their mind about the price. For me, $15-$20 is a more appropriate price point for this. Other than that, this is clearly a nice application with a lot of polish for a 1.0x version!
