Great little utility. I discovered it whilst waiting for Dockstar (free equivalent) to support 10.5. It has worked flawlessly for four months since I installed, and whilst I have no interest in the screensaver option, I can see it would be of use to some users.
Great little app. Does just what it should with the minimum of fuss - ideal for leaving in the dock and dragging HTML files onto when you have finished editing.
It would be great if XML and CSS files could be checked through the same application too.
LOOPNINE, thanks for your comments. Unfortunately, the way iCal saves its icons, it is necessary to open iCal to change the dock icon. I am however looking into ways of making this more reliable and less obtrusive for future versions.
Regarding your second point on iCal staying open - what should happen is that iCal opens, and if you have not checked that box, it will quit. If this is not happening 100% of the time, I'll tweak the code a little to fix that. Thanks for the feedback.
Johnny, check your settings (hold down the Alt key while iConiCal launches to bring up the settings) and check that the 'Leave iCal open checkbox is not checked'.
Also, you say that you have had this problem for a few days - let me know if it still exists in v1.1
Finally, if iCal was open before you opened iConiCal, then it will not automatically be closed for obvious reasons.
If you are still having problems, please let me know by email.
Johnny I think this may be caused by you running another program. Can you email at contact @ blocksoft.net (without the spaces) so I can sort this for an update next week?
Update - I believe I have found and corrected the problem, which occurs if you use other iCal related utilities. If you email me Johnny, I'll sort you out with a version to use until I release the next formal update next week.
In response to the comment below regarding diacritic characters, MemoBlock does handle the majority of diacritic characters correctly, and most users will have no problems using umlauts, circumflexes, accents and so on. There does appear to be a problem with some characters, including the caron (?), which I shall look into. For languages which do not use that particular diacritic however, there is no problem, and 99% of users can use MemoBlock without issue.
I needed a basic text editor for editing my website files etc. I can work offline, or combine it with Cyberduck to modify files directly from the website.
The main feature for me was 'tabbed' files within one window - I much prefer working this way, as it keeps my desktop for less cluttered and lets me work on multiple files simultaneously. Great work, keep it up!
