after updating to 4.6.1 dvd player does not open...it says that i have no dvd drive?????

I just installed 10.4.1.......
And I did this update(lacie), and now my dvd player (mac) is not regonize. As soon as i use the dvd softwware with my D2 dvd-rw, the panic attack window appears.It a big black scare that tells you to hold for 5 sec.bla bla.
Wen this appens, my authorisation under disk utilitie get mix up, and I got to make repair,or my computer does panic attack each time i open my computer.

LAcie or apple better get a firmware or something out soon, because now it really suck that i cant use no more my dvd....osx 10.4.1
