Toucan performs wonderfully!! I needed to display a live-updating slideshow on a secondary screen and Toucan fit the bill extremely well! I’m a little sad now that I upgraded to Lion because I discovered I will not be able to use it. I hope the new version comes out very soon! :) Kudos to the developer on this great software.
One of the first utilities I install on any Mac. A must have for me. There is one small caveat I had when upgrading to Snow Leopard. Whenever I invoke X-Tunes without iTunes being previously launched, X-Tunes now pops up its interface and keeps it on the screen even after iTunes has launched and even though I let go of the keys immediately after I invoked them, and only hides the interface until I invoke the command for it again. Are any other users receiving a similar situation?
while an icon might suffice for some, this app, which has integrated beautifully with iCal for many years, is a godsend for those of us who need a stable quick access to any of our calendars on iCal, be they Google-synched or MobileMe-synched, Menu Cal performs a fantastic job. Hardly obtrusive and most-always very stable, I'm more than willing to be a bit forgiving when an upgrade goes slightly bad and one has to revert to a previous version for a short while. I've used this app for several years and have never regretted purchasing it.
Praises and Kudos to the developer of I Love Stars 2.0
This app is small, beautiful (simple interface) and does exactly what I want. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! :D
After iTunesRating's demise with the arrival of Leopard (apparently they didn't work well together), I searched and searched for an update and now, 7 months later I have found it, I love 'I Love Stars'!! It's perfect for me. thanks!! I would like to request for you not to add anything to this app, I like it just the way it is. :)
I truly like this program, i've recommended it to all my friends with Macs. However, since installing Tiger, I notice that when i import my photos with Image Capture, and rotate them before (using Image Capture) or after importing (using Preview), JView doesn't reflect the 'virtual' rotation. :-( As it happens that many times i'll have quite a few pictures rotated, this becomes a nuisance to use. Is there a way a setting could be added in the preferences, to where we choose whether or not we want JView to 'recognize' these type of virtual rotations? I say 'virtual' because in effect, JView is actually rendering the picture correctly, i believe that Preview only makes a 'note' that it should display a certain image rotated, and thus not actually rotating it physically… Well, thanks again for a wonderful free application, i've been using it since Jaguar
yeah, in fact, photoshop CS is recognizing this type of annotation as well… it shows them rotated even though physically they are still in their horizontal position. I don't exactly know why, but my guess is that they do it in order to preserve the all the metadata information intact, as well as the creation date… i'd really really really really like to see it in JView!!!! :) cheers!
Toucan 1.5 does not work on Lion. The developer’s site states that he’s working on a 2.0 version, I’d love to know when it comes out! Hope it’s Lion compatible :) Cheers
meatmcguffin is correct, (i forgot to specify on my previous message), BwanaDik identifies the Local IP address but not the more important External IP, and thus, no way of notifying me of whether or not i have a 'good' signal. :) BwanaDik is a great tool, I have sent the Developer an email (haven't heard back from him yet but hopefully soon), it'll be good to have BwanaDik running as part of my LoginItems again… :)
