I use audacity on a daily basis for a wide variety of tasks from digitizing old media, editing audio, comparing tracks, batch processing, finalizing, converting files, extracting audio from film files, amongst other things.
I love that it is simple and not over bloated with features. What some may see as a restrictive feature set and user interface, I see as focused and concise.
I consider Audacity as a essential tool for audio editing work. It has always been very stable, where other audio editing packages have struggled.
I was looking for a simple good quality audio player to make playlists, without the bloated features that iTunes and Songbird offer. I also wanted FLAC support. Really pleased with it and SBooth seems on top of the development, ironing out bugs. Keep up the good work.
