Some MKVs don’t even open (and they played fine in previous versions of VLC).

Additionally the interface is a complete mess. Typical visual clutter of tasteless developers who want to "show of" feature-richness.

All in all a very disappointing release. Back to version 1.1.12 for me.
And seeing the direction VLC is going I start searching for alternatives now.
