It's never crashed on me; it has lots of useful features; it's even wonderful for writing and exporting to HTML; the price is right; the developer is communicative.
But I am removing one star for this line in the description: "All of Cocoa's good stuff", which would be true if the developer had not given up on adding what I consider to be one of the best Cocoa features out there: scripting (specifically, AppleScript of course), even after I had hacked an earlier version so that the resulting build had rudimentary scripting support. Then I'm taking another half star off for ending the availability of the source code past version 2. Apart from those disappointments, it is great software.
What a SHOCK, surprise and delight to see this new UB version. I have ... well, actually HAD been using TE plus for decades, but had given up on it because the non-native version proved to be too slow for my torturous work. Now I'm happily downloading this and need to find all my old scripts and re-install them on my new machine. Thank you Tom Bender, for hanging in there!

And now that faq is gone from the website. If someone finds it, feel free to post the new link. This is just sad.
This is what I've been waiting for ever since the demise of VideoHub. And this one is free. And simple ... but powerful. And extensible. The simple interface belies its actual power. Very good potential. Excellent for a version ONE.
I have used PDF SAM for a couple of years now and have found it to be very useful and stable, although the GUI could not be called intuitive. Once you get the hang of it, though, it's a good standard for splitting and merging PDF documents. And it is very fast.
Apparently this interesting utility has a conflict with the WASTE text engine, or at least a conflict with Tex-Edit Plus. If you are fond of using TE+, you will have problems.
Just a note that if you have "TextTools" installed (marsthemes.com), you will not be able to save (or close save dialogs) in Tex-Edit Plus (v4.9.9 & 4.9.12). Must be a conflict Text Tools has with the WASTE text engine.
CAUTION!! Do not drop files onto this app. It will delete the originals without doing anything else, regardless of settings. I advise that you back up your files, then only do one file at a time using the window interface, and, to be safe, don't check the "delete originals" checkbox (which, as mentioned does NOT need to be on for this bug to do its damage).
