Ok, I prefer coloured than black&white icon.
However, it works quite smoothly and stable on my MacBook Pro 2007. But, "Check for updates" is still not working, although this feature was supposed to be supported.

I used Papers since version 1. It was my favorite bibliography search program and I experienced too a sort of "downgrade".
It is slower than 1, buggy, sometimes hanging and many things are difficult and no immediate (like matching as was in version 1).
As PDF reader I am still waiting for highlighting and underlining text functions.
I need this software for my research and I hope this will be ameliorated otherwise I would be forced to move in other directions.
