Paid for it about 2 years ago. Very hit and miss. Only corrects 60% of stuff. Very slow and the GUI is clumsy. Now they want more money for an improved version when the rest of us paid for below average.
Sadly, I updated to the pay version merrily thinking it was a normal update. Now I am lumbered with a demo version of something I have to once again pay for.
I have a license and am told that I am in Demo mode for the new version Jaikoz 4.3.1 NGS and that my existing license is invalid. I wish I had kept the old version now.
I can see the potential here and looks very straightforward. I have tried lots of servers and think this will ultimately be the best. At the moment the only one that works for me is Llink. (EyeConnect does too but can't handle subtitle files) I'm using it to stream files from my iMac through a Popbox 3D which can't handle SMB sharing in Lion.
PlayBack shows up on the Popbox and I can see all my files but the Popbox won't play any media.
I don't see Apple fixing SMB sharing in Lion anytime soon so UPnP is the simplest want to go. Looking forward to the next release because PlayBack has great potential.
It seems to be a powerful piece of software, but its a bit too advanced for me. I tried to resize the resolution on a file that needed smaller resolution to play through my DVD player and all I could manage was to distort the aspect ratio several times.
With Ffmpeg I could also hardcode subtitles onto a movie and then play it through the DVD player. iFfmpeg doesn't seem to have that capability at the moment.
I bought the software and will stick with it, but I was anticipating something I could use. Still having to rely on Ffmpeg for most things.
