i've been foolish enough to pay for this app twice - once for version 3 and then again for the paid upgrade to 4 when i naively believed the developer's hype about improved speed and reliability. i'll not be buying garagesale again. that's for sure!
it's true that using garagesale to post auctions is infinitely preferable to using ebay's interface - but in the same way that beating yourself over the head with a block of wood is infinitely preferable to beating yourself over the head with an iron bar.
garagesale is teethgrindingly slow [i've not seen the spinning beachball this much since way back in the panther days!], it's infuriatingly unstable - you're guaranteed at least one crash during every session of useage. and the interface could serve as a model for the misuse of screen real estate and the heights of unintuitiveness.
i wish someone would make a decent ebay uploader for mac. sadly, this is the best of the bunch and it's completely dire!
hmmm... it's an interesting wee app and has some useful features but i think the developer's claims that xee is a 'more powerful replacement for preview' are slightly wide of the mark, given that xee has no print menu and cannot open PDFs. both of which the 'underpowered' preview seems to manage OK.
seems like another 'solution in search of a problem to me'.
why not just set your system preferences to require a password to wake from sleep and then put your comp to sleep when you need to leave it for a few mins? - or, if you've got a laptop, just close the lid and it will go to sleep anyway.
[system preferences > security > require password to wake this computer from sleep or screen saver]
when you return just enter your password and all your open docs and windows are as you left them. no need for third party add-ons
even considering your not having a powerbook, i fail to see what's so difficult about 'apple menu > sleep' or [if moving that mouse is too much like hard work] hitting the power button and then 'S' - that you felt the need to create a separate app to do this?
how the feck did this get to version 1,5,1 already? about a fortnight ago it was still in beta.
jeez! developers release new versions of their software more often than they change their underpants these days. whatever happened to taking a bit of time to bug-check before you let it out the door? that way you don't need a new release every ten minutes.
[Version 1.5.1]
