There seem to be downsides, too. Be cautious about Avast installing adware. Read this article for more information: http://www.thesafemac.com/avast-installs-adware/
This tool is not needed any more when using Chrome and having switched on the upload option in the web interface of Google Play Music. Chrome itself is then taking care of uploading your music from the given sources, and syncing your playlists from iTunes to Google Play Music. Worked so far for me.
Wow, this really seems expensive to me, for what it does there are some really strong competitors out there that don't charge for their software.
Cannot select the search field in the current version. I can click on it, and enter some data, which brings up the results, but I cannot see what I type. Previous version was fine.
Well, forget about it. After a restart, it works. Was a one time hiccup, it seems.
So disappointed. In 10.9.0, Mail stopped working (crashes over crashes). In 10.9.1, Apple fixed it, and I gave it another try. Now, in 10.9.2, I regret it, as Mail stopped working again on four machines simultaneously. Mail keeps crashing and crashing. I'm unable to use it. I'm so glad I've got alternatives like the rock solid Airmail, which I heavily recommend.
Starting up Mail after the 10.9.2 update, it hangs about 2 minutes without doing or showing anything, then the crash message shows up. No conversion dialog box or the like. I'm no Apple dev, and I didn't file bugs or collected the crash logs. I hoped to get some useful info here, in the first place. But obviously, most of you people had no problems with the update. Well then, I'll do the only thing possible on those 4 machines: Reverting back to 10.9.1 via Time Machine. Then, waiting for a better update sometime in the future. Strange, I never had such severe problems with any Apple updates prior to Mavericks...
I had GPGMail and Attachment Tamer installed, but I removed them prior to the installation. No plug-ins in sight, but still no launch.
Still a great, useful and trustworthy software. I wonder though, why the MacAppStore version is at 2.2.5 whereas the free version (that I cannot use because of the installed MAS version) is already at 2.4.0. Is there an update in the works that is still in Apple's approval queue...?
Dropbox ceized to work as soon as Avast did its proxy thing. Uninstalled and all is fine. Waiting for a corrected version.
Feature rich, but not one of the fastest, and, unfortunately, one of the most intrusive browsers I’ve seen to date. Switches to default browser without asking for permission to do so, as well as installing a menu extra. Has problems to process download links from file hosting sites, which Safari and Chrome do handle well.
Asks me to choose my home folder on startup. But I can't do it because all is greyed out. What gives...?!
Newest version cures my problems. Cudos to the dev for making it possible.
Thanks for your reply. However, it doesn't seem so rare. It happens on all three machines I tried on. Can you explain, why should I contact you? Frankly, I'd prefer having a bug-free version released that I can actually use.
Great software with some great features that others don't have, like QuickMatch, which is outstandingly useful in my opinion. However, as soon as you throw several thousands of fonts at it, the Suitcase app gets really increasingly sluggish to an almost unusable degree. Am I too demanding…? Apart of that, it's finally a very good update which brings Extensis Suitcase back to par with the competition.
Well, I have even more fonts to deal with, and that's where the slowliness starts to show. And yes, I have a fast SSD, too.
