Well, it's nice that someone finally picked this up, but in all honesty - this GUI is pretty useless. A good GUI should make a CLI tool *easier* to use, not harder. It should also add some additional value to the CLI tool, which I don't see this doing at all. How is this any better than simply running: $ sudo ddrescue /dev/disk2s2 myimage.dmg myimage.log You should make this *way* better before asking for donations. PS: here's a link to a ddrescue 1.17 binary (compiled on OS X 10.7): http://unflyingobject.com/tmp/ddrescue-1.17.zip

The best editor for Mac OS 9. I would love to love BBEdit, but I can't. The sad fact is that it just cannot compete with modern alternatives. :( TextMate was a game changer and it set the standard for how lightweight, intuitive and extensible a modern editor should be. Seems that BBEdit 10 tried to catch up with "Open file by name" and folders as projects, but it was all too little too late. For example, editing Python - every modern editor will give you a function skeleton with def-tab, but not BBEdit. Defaults are weird - probably the most used shortcut in TextMate - Command-T opens up the OS X font selector and jumping to a symbol is Ctrl-Command-J?. And these are just the basics - forget about all the cool editing tricks we're all used to in TM and Sublime or bundles, or color schemes, or split window editing... So overall, my recommendation for new users would be to check out Sublime Text and also keep an eye on TM2. BBEdit can be great sometimes for dealing with really large files (say >100MB logs or SQL dumps), but for everything else, there's nothing to see here, folks. Sad, but true... :(

@Eelco Deuling: and how many times do you change fonts when editing plain text? :-)

This is the sort of crapware one would expect on Windows, not OS X. Do not install.

Is this any different than combining several documents in Preview and saving them as a single file?

"Accounts other than Gmail are not supported in this version." Should probably be mentioned somewhere...

Thanks for the replies. I got that error when trying to configure my IMAP account with this very same version.

Seems this is no longer free, but $4.99. Doesn't make it any less good though.

You can also use screen. For example: screen /dev/tty.PL2303-0000201A 9600 Where "PL2303-0000201A" is dependent on your serial adapter driver and 9600 the baud rate.
