I find Cookie a nice and simple application that does exactly what I wanted: a way to manage a set of browser cookies I want to keep (favourites) and delete all other ones. It can delete the unwanted ones automatically and is also able to manage flash, silverlight and databases as well. It also labels tracking-cookies and offers the option to delete only those, which I also find useful. It can sit on the menubar and be hidden from the dock, which is how I prefer to use it. On the bad side, I would like to know better how does Cookie differentiate between a regular Cookie and a Tracking-Cookie. I suspect it follows a name pattern, but I am unsure how effective this method is to ensure a correct labelling. I use it everyday and I recommend it, as it saves time against the usual common solution: delete all cookies and log to every website again... Also very stable and easy to use.
Hello, I did buy version IV in 2010. I did not use it very much that time, but when I wanted to download it again to give it another try, I realized that I could not download the version that works with my license (4), but only the last version 5. I did email support for a download link, but they told me they 'don't supply old version of software'. They did offer me an upgrade price. Just wanted to point out, that the upgrades are mandatory with this application. Unless you keep a backup I guess.. which was not my case. It may be every couple of years, but still is something to keep in mind. If Apple Mail encryption feature with certificates does not suit your needs, this may be a nice alternative.
After have used this software for some months and trying some other alternatives, I decided to stick with this one, as it was the best for my needs: - You call it with a shortcut from anywhere you are. - You can arrange the icons as you like, no forced order or positions, but the grid that makes them look aligned. I find this VERY important and a deal-breaker for other alternatives. - I was able to adjust the panel size, categories and remove the names (just show the icons) which gave me more or less the look I was searching for. Overall, it looks decent and works without problems. On the bad side, is not updated very often, low user feedback maybe? Nice job!
Tried some of the alternatives, but this is the one that never crashed and connected fast and simple after the basic configuration. The app has an icon, not as it is shown (at least today) on MacUpdate (the default os-app icon). The only thing is that you must press "Load Settings" every time you start the app to load the saved settings (could just load them automatically, but well, I guess thats a matter of taste). For the price and reliability, recommended!
