Why should I need this, now that Lion has got this functionality built in?

OS X Lion and Xcode 4 are great, i.m.o. - But how can I stop a download I've already started in the AppStore? - I appreciate the fact that Xcode is free again, but I do not like to be forced to use the AppStore for updates like this.

VirtualBox is much more flexible concerning the choice of the guest operating systems. I see no use for Bootcamp any more.

Get VirtualBox 4.1 for free and forget about Fusion!

I've just successfully installed Ubuntu 11.04 on VB 4.1 on OS X Lion on my Mac mini 2.53 GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB/500GB. The setup wizard of VirtualBox is extremely easy to use, and the installation of Ubuntu worked without the slightest problem. Main advantages of a virtualized installation are that I can use OS X and Ubuntu simultaneously without having to boot-switch between them; furthermore, the virtualization avoids any hardware issues (driver incompatibilities and the like). Even my Wacom Bamboo tablet is supported out of the box! On the other hand, the Unity desktop is not supported on my machine and Ubuntu starts up with the Classic desktop; and the resolution is limited to 1.024x786 (at least, I haven't yet found a way to switch to a higher resolution). I am really amazed how easy it is to use VB 4.1 and recommend it to anyone who wants to run another OS on his Mac. The other way round would be even greater: being able to install a virtualized Lion on my Lenovo IdeaPad with Ubuntu. Hope to see this possibility soon!

After successfully installing the VB Guest Additions, the screen resolution is now 1280x960, which is quite sufficient.

Because of its ease of use, Safari is still my favourite web browser. I also like the Firefox, though i.m.h.o. it's user interface is somewaht less straightforward. I have also evaluated Chromium in the Ubuntu Linux environment, but, to me, its user interface is rather un-intuitive. OK, sometimes, stability is an issue when it comes to Adobe Flash support. But Flash ought to be banned & abolished, anyway... So, again: Safari is still my fav on the Mac.

Quick Note is a very nice Stickies replacement, but i.m.o. it should auto-quit when the notepad window is closed.
