Excellent menu bar app for Mail. Getting new features constantly (though simple settings suffice for this user) and from what I see, actively developed. Low footprint, stable and reliable. I just wonder why does its name keeps on changing: Version 1.7 - Mail Menu Version 1.7.1 - Mail Menu Extension Version 1.7.2 - Mail Satellite Kudos to the dev for offering this free of charge!
Use it daily, mainly to type messages on my iPhone, as I'm working on my Mac most of the time. (Yes, some people don't have iPhones, so I can't just use Messages with them :) Easy to set up and does what it says on the tin. The default interface is distracting, but it can easily be configured to a less intrusive one. Use a utility such as Alfred or LaunchBar to configure a key to bring it forward/send it back and you're set. I'm specially fond of the "Switch iOS Keyboard Layout" option (as I prefer to type rather than speak), though its Dictation and VoiceOver capabilities might impress users who lean that way. The app has a very straight forward help, depicting all you can achieve with it. Only complaint: what an appalling icon! Would be lovely to have this running in the menu bar without a dock icon. Or to get a nicer looking proporcional icon.
Superb developer company, very useful and stable software. Price, though a bit steep, is easily justified by its enormous value, timely and significant updates, and for its unparalleled time-saving searching of characters.
PopChar also offers different insertion modes for the chosen character (size and formatting), an useful magnifier and a time saver searching scope. It can also detect the font being used, as to present the searched character in the same font if available. I used to go for the Character Viewer (or Palette) but finding a given character took too much of my time. I see no reason to use another software if that suffices ones need, but for me, the native solution just didn't cut it anymore.
Really nice little app: unobtrusive, low on resources, stable and useful. Has some nice color schemes, transparency settings and a programable shortcut to be brought upfront. Would love to see sensor reading capabilities in a future update, as well as a mouse battery level indicator and maybe fan speed. Other than that, for which I reduced one star on Features, MenuBar Stats is quite complete.
Superb reference software: loads of info, easy to use, great to manage lists and stable. Steady updates makes it a no-brainer to donate to the developer.
You can buy this either via MAS (renamed as "Image2icon") for $3.99 or straight from the dev (download the demo first and register via the app's preferences) for $3.90.
Highly recommended for folks who work with different time zones. Lots of customization options, plus city renaming, working hours indicator, time offset view and take a break alert. Responsive developer and super stable application.
Look Ma: mouseless searching of shortcuts! Great work guys!
I need some clarification, not about the software itself, which is solid but on the bundle being offered by MU. Did Metakine buy DVDSuki? If not, why is this on the current Metakine bundle with no footnotes? Why can't we comment the bundle this time?
I'm using the provided 1.1 version (10.6 compatible) but I am unable to access the app's preferences. Any SL user experiencing the same issue?
