I've been using Alfred for about a year (since it's introduction if I'm not mistaken). The program works well, has never crashed or impacted my system and also has a very pleasant interface. I didn't hesitate to purchase the "Powerpack"to extend it's functionality. Alfred is quite configurable. It is one of the few programs I count on every day. After hearing of the pending version 2 release, I pre-purchased a"Mega Supporter" upgrade license.
In short, for the price this is an extremely well designed app and the developer keeps it updated. I have had SonicMood for quite a while but never really used it much. Recently, my wife has decided listening to nature sounds (rain, water, storms etc.) help her fall asleep. I spent a bout $20 buying downloads from Amazon when it hit me that I already had a program to create my own relaxation music/nature sounds. I have had trouble with SoundFlower (with SonicMood and other apps too) so used Audio Hijack Pro to capture and record 30 minute sessions of different "moods". I've got about 15 done so far and play them back on our audio system at low volume when we go to bed. The wife loves it. I have to confess I like it too. :D
This latest release version 6.0.6 on Sept 10th 2012 is older than the current release version 6.1.1 (1503). Seems to be an error here...
MacUpdate Lon is correct that the version on the PathFinder site is 6.0.6. However, after installing 6.0.6 I am immediately prompted by PathFinder to upgrade to 6.1.1 (and it is not noted as a Beta). Which is the exact version I was already running before downloading and installing the 6.06 update. Confusing for sure... :D
Mtcobra, mine updated and I am currently running 6.1.1 (1503).
I purchased a license from the app store back in August. I haven't used it much since purchasing it but just noticed Jumper now fails to launch (under Lion). I went to see if there is an update. Well the app store no longer has the application available and does not list it under my purchased apps even though I have a receipt. The developer has changed names (from App4Mac to ADNX). Their new web site does not even list Jumper as one of their apps. WTF? OK I only paid $1.99 for it but still, this is pretty bad...
Update: Jumper is back on the app store and is free until Dec 31st. Funny, after installing this new version (which is working under Lion btw) my original purchase from August now shows up again under my app store purchases. I have some concerns over how and why an app I purchased disappeared in the first place though. Does not give me very much confidence in the app store.
Now that this is App Store only, how does one update their existing version 2? Going into the program setup and clicking update does not find the new version and the update is not available on the developers web page (not that I can find). I'm not an App Store hater but this is one thing that annoys me about it... i. e. when I have an existing license and can not get updates (or have to jump through hoops to do so). It would be nice if the App Store recognized existing licensed software on my Mac and would allow updates (or upgrades). Guess I am asking too much...
I've always liked viewing stereograms. I downloaded the Stereogram Workshop demo and within a few minutes had a neat hidden image created. I went ahead and bought a license and now have my first stereogram printed and stuck on the fridge. I am commenting instead of rating the program as I haven't really worked in it enough yet to provide an accurate assessment. However, in my limited testing it seems to be a cool program and for $9.95 I think it is a good deal and a lot of fun.
