I would consider using this if it had sync via Dropbox - better yet, WiFi. I'm not interested in registering with or passing my data through some random company's servers to sync.
This so-called Lightroom integration stinks. Without even getting into DxO's lack of proper support for DNGs, when I try to edit a TIF copy I usually get a question mark icons where my image is supposed to be (actually, for all of them). Instead, it may open my Photos folder - not where I keep my files - and not open the one I'm trying to edit. The one time a file opened properly I tried exporting to DNG, but got a batch error about RGB - despite only exporting one photo and it wasn't originally RGB. I've had this app for about 6 months, but I'm not impressed due to its limitations and flakiness.
After watching the tutorials, this app appears to have some great features. However, it succeeded in irritating me early and often. I configured the toolbar and preferences, then opened a number of PDFs, but couldn't get past the fact that there's no option for Fit Page, which is how I prefer to view PDFs. And no matter where you reposition the window it always opens in the same place at the same size (unless you've already opened a document in which case it remembers the last setting), and it's smaller than a typical document size. Rather than tweak the window of every PDF I open or use a window manager (I have Breeze, which has its own annoyances, and Stay which, due to its apparent ADHD, means I don't benefit from its roughly 60% success rate), I can do without this app for now.
I forgot one thing: open a PDF and try paging through it with the keyboard. It doesn't work until you click on the document. No, no, NO!
I reinstalled the trial to test this. At it's default with the left panel open, pressing the down arrow did nothing. I changed the setting in preferences to not open the left panel by default, but this time I got a pop-up with Text and Forms options. Not even page down works. Until I click the document. Sorry, this won't work for me.
What an intrusive app! If you don't let it access 89 different servers - not counting the ones containing the videos you're trying to download - it's useless. It also wants to download lots of add-ons that make me leery. I know for a fact that I have a JRE and ffmpeg, yet it says I don't have them and wants to install them. Makes me want to reinstall Sophos to see what kind of damage it's caused. And it freezes up for long periods. On the plus side, it's been able to get things that the generally useless Videobox and the even-more-useless Jaksta don't even see, much less download.
So I came here looking for something else, but happened to see the $49 promo and was intrigued. Never heard of the app before, but I'm a hobbyist musician and photographer so it was certainly interesting. After checking out the developer's site and watching a number of YT videos I was hooked. By the time I got back to MU the price was $105. Hooked, but not that hooked. My bad for not noticing the time limit.
No more launching in another Space. Thanks for fixing that!
Not worth the trouble. This app decides for itself when it wants to be in Demo mode or Activated mode. I have a valid license bought via Macupdate, but at least half the time it starts in Demo mode.
We have to register on their website just to try the demo? I think I'll pass on that. At this price, I'll just invest in another colorimeter.
Strike 1: The Operations button doesn't do a thing. Where's that progress window shown in the videos? Strike 2: There's a help file, but it launches my browser (that by itself could be three strikes!) Strike 3: ________
Strike 3: I can't have a 2nd monitor connected if I want to see the Operations progress. I'll stick with PhoneView - it can be molasses slow, but it's reliable.
I just got this in the MU Promo and it may be the best software ever, but this will be the last version I buy thanks to all of the registration hoops I just had to get through. I sure hope it doesn't suck after all of that. Yes, I am in a lousy mood!
