I recently changed my scanner from a dedicated Epson scanner to an HP Officejet wireless all-in-one as I've found my scanning needs dwindling rapidly in recent years. I've a long-time user of VueScan, and the moment I removed the Epson scanner and connected the HP Vuescan recognized it and started working with it immediately. Vuescan has far more features than I'll ever need, but it can do all the scanning I need, with marvellous results, and support is second to none. Like other users, when I've had to contact Ed (only once) his reply was prompt and courteous. Terrific app and service!
I decided to take a chance on this, despite the lack of a test drive, just based on the info I got from the website on what it could do. It allows one to include a wealth of information, more than most programs, and seems pretty flexible I think it is a pretty well spent $20. The $3.00 for the iPad version helped me make my decision. Thanks, developers!
GraphicConverter is such a terrific application that I couldn't work without it. I've been a user for a long time and it has become a staple in my toolbox. It's incredibly feature-rich and just works, period. I don't even use that high-end bloatware anymore. GC does everything I need. The author works hard to make sure it is kept up to date with new features as well. Thorsten, thanks for making this a free update for users of v.7. It's a real treat!
This is probably one of the most useful and thoughtfully designed little viewer/editor around. The only thing I miss is being able to use it under Lion. Is there going to be an upgrade of the app, compiled for Intel? I miss it SO MUCH!
Thoth was my first 'real' GUI newsreader when I came over to Macs many years ago. I loved it then, and I have to say that I'm really glad to see it resurrected. There are lots of choices now, but for good filtering and threading it was hard to beat Thoth. I'm glad to see it's gone Intel now too!
As a regular user of the 4 volume Divine Office, I liked the thought of this and decided to give it a chance. What a wonderful idea, and a really great implementation of it! It not only has the prayers for the hours themselves, but the page references for those who use the 4 volume or single volume Christian Prayer. It's nicely designed, the colours are attractive (and allows 3 different options), it shows an image of the day and has a page of explanation of any special days on the Church calendar. Personally, I think this app will be of great value to me, and so far I've not found a problem with it. Great work!
