I have used a variety ofMac diary programs/apps since 1990. This one is easy and not intrusive. However, it crashed every time it launched (for about a month). But the support over this time has been constant and helpful in diagnosing a couple problems. The latest release now seems to have fixed the problem. Excellent support.
Problem was a conflict with a plug in for online video conferencing. Nothing could be done. I need that online video (part of my teaching). So I have stopped use of DayOne. ‘Tis a shame, as it seemed to offer a good package.
Scrivener has become my default writing program. I edit a magazine, and have one project for that. Another project handles all my blog posts (4 blogs). Another one handles all my seminary curriculum. And a 4th project handles all staff meetings. The export capabilities have vastly improved. Now my word processors are only used for small project, those with Hebrew, or finalizing the Scrivener export. I have been using for 3 years but extensively in the past five months. Nothing compares for my needs.
I have used Mellel soon after it first appeared. Solid program that keeps getting better. Are there features that I would like to see. But what it does provide is top notch. I use Hebrew and Greek within English writing, and it is actually a breeze to change languages and keep on typing. No other program handles it that well. Style sheets are unmatched (although I would like to see cascading style sheets, but with templates, once style sheets are set there is no need for further refinement), auto-titles are superb. And Mellel has only crashed once in 9 years. My powerhouse word processor and dependability application.
I have used FP for many years, even prior to OS X. Always useful. But with this update, ML will not allow it to launch because “it is not in MAS or not an approved vender.” If it actually worked like it had up through 10.7, then this would get a five star rating. Until this is resolved, can’t even rate it.
Excellent. Thank you. Works like a charm. Now a five-star rating, again!
I have used Google for a couple years now, and found it very workable and highly rated it. But this update has killed the ability to see any of the videos in YouTube. I can hear the sound, but no video. This upgrade is very disappointing.
I have been using Tinderbox for five months. What a power house! I am only at the edges of what it can do, but I am growing more fond of it all the time. Along with the stability and value, this makes Tinderbox one of my first choices for most projects.
I would have given 4 ½ stars but the last two updates will not allow any kind of control on the YouTube buttons. Everything else I like about it, but because I had Opera set up as my primary YouTube browser, it is now taking a back seat. Opera developers... get this fixed!
Thanks. Wonder why nothing has been stated. Or have I missed that too?
