After downloading the Browse file, I received a warning from OS that there is a problem with the final and it presented the default option of NOT opening it. I trashed the download - current status of this application is, in very technical language, worthless.
I really like Firefox and ver. 22 is better than ever, but I had to report a bug that is so odd. When I type in this url: commondreams.org Firefox takes me to http://hollywoodcontrol.com/. I just don't understand this. Otherwise the browser is snappy, okay to look at and has a decent Android version.
Please ignore. My bad. Firefox is a terrific browser.
Given the substantial price difference between this version and the one offered at the Apple App strore, I wonder what the difference is between this version (199) and that offered at the app store (79).
Absolutely horrible and unusable interface. What was once simple and intuitive is now complex and confusing. And, to top things off, it's still feels sluggish and unresponsive. It seems like Apple was Steve Jobs. Now that he is gone, the company seems nothing more than one big, customer indifferent, mega corporation.
As someone who purchased this app when it was fairly new, I am perplexed by how it can be updated. There is no option to update the app from within Ommwriter and communication with the developer is, at best, spotty. So for those considering buying Ommwriter, be warned that free updates may not be possible. Personally, I found the sounds and ambient melodies only briefly interesting. If I want to listen to something when I write, and I write a lot, I prefer choosing my own music. But I can see the appeal of Ommwriter. I think for it to be a serious contender in the crowded "distraction-free" writing environment, it needs to have mark-down incorporated within the app with an option for html copy. The version of Ommwriter I own, Dana II, lacks that feature.
Thanks!!! It worked. Not exactlly intuitive. I'm liking the new sounds.
I so want to like and use Opera. But it continues to be a huge memory hog. With only about 6 tabs open, the CPU usage goes over 100% consistently on my MacBook Pro and the computer becomes quite hot.
Just utterly dreadful. Useless. Nothing but spinning beach balls.
I can't understand the negative ratings. It works impeccably on my Macbook Pro. Flawless.
I have noticed that both Chrome and Chromium in beta version 20.xx are unstable and tend to have page crashes on gmail.
Persistently crashes and then hangs on Macbook 2.3 Ghz running latest version of Lion. Useless.
Is Ver. 11.63 a Beta? According to the app;s header on macupdate, the beta is ver. 12. Also, my review pointed out my machine and operating system because its crashing might be not a general problem. Third, other browser betas, such as Chrome and Firefox, don't crash on my computer with anything near to the frequency that Opera has crashed on mine.
Just initial impressions, but much improved. More stable, but not as stable as the other browser biggies and much reduced memory leak. So far, so good.
