Long time user but this latest release (11) is buggy. Crashes frequently when searching or for any number of other unknown reasons (and not just me - widely reported in various forums). When it works it works well. Unfortunately the very frequent crashes make it difficult to rate this well. Newest version (11.0.7) reports bug fixes but release notes not available on line so I don't know whether these issues have been addressed.
Been using this now for almost a week and with version 11.0.07 no crashes so far while searching.
One of the worst pieces of software I have EVER tried to use. As I have used PS CS5 in the past and not keen on buying Creative Cloud I made the mistake of buying this, having used an ancient version. What a piece of $%h&!. Frequent errors - corrupt catalogs that can't be repaired (and I have just started to use it - catalogs are corrupt already - seriously!!), can't apply names using face recognition, often won't let me apply ratings or move items to an album because some mysterious process is 'busy'. I could go on but having tried many different photo organizing software and editing software this is easily the worst - not to mention the 1990's PC user interface. Stay away, far away.
This is a great app. Much simpler than using spotlight and much more flexible and customizable. You can choose what you search for (file, folder, content), where (specific folder on your HD, your entire HD or on external HDs). Relatively speedy and free!
I'd used the predecessor to this software and it worked great (when iView) not badly (when MS took it over) and now not at all. When trying to import images into a catalogue the 'media pro importer' crashes repeatedly and I mean repeatedly - dozens of times when trying to import a single DVD. Based on their product forum my experience is not unique. Despite providing the crash log I've been waiting for three months for their support team to fix this. So - I give it one star because the software seems like a great idea but it's not cheap and it doesn't work!!
I'm sure it's something stupid on my part but having purchased the bundle and downloaded the font pack, all I see is a single font - Concordia. That's a bit different than the 6,200 promised! What am I doing wrong?
Being the impatient sort, I downloaded the FontPac separately from the main bundle - there is only one font (Concordia). When you download the full bundle from MacUpdate it does contain all of the fonts. So, problem solved.
I get 100-200 emails a day and keeping track of them is a chore. Not infrequently despite best efforts I have 200-300 in my inbox. I don't like shelling out for applications without being able to try them out, which you can't if you buy from Apple's App Store. However, after reading a review in MacWorld I took the plunge and already loving it. Manually moving emails was always a problem as I could never remember which folder/subfolder I had created or stored similar messages in. With MsgFiler as along as I can remember a word or few letters in the mailbox title I get a short list of options. It seems to learn as I go, so that the appropriate mailbox is more often than not at the top of the list. Simply press 'return' and it gets moved into the appropriate mailbox - quickly. I haven't even looked at some of the other features but already loving it - and I don't write too many favourable reviews.
