HMOROVIC I've been using this application since the days of 10.2 and it had never failed me: simple gui and a bunch of code possibilities...not as "fancy" as Mactheripper, but , methinks, better... And burning the DVD with toast ist child-easy!!! (Version 0.0110a1)

DENTALMAC This app's interface is ugly. However it works when Mactheripper fails. Another good thing about it is it rips a DVD into one VOB file instead of several. Not a big deal, but this makes playing an unconverted movie much easier plus I ilke the simplicity. Front Row will even play the VOB file. (Version 0.0110a1)

AIKOUSHA Great program, fast, and has specific functionality that beats out the other programs of it's type out there. However... It is very unstable with current systems, and several discs I've tried to pull a few scenes from. This program seriously needs an update to fix the current crash problems. Please, developer! STILLERD I have come across problems with language when viewing movies. After a few scenes of english it will randomly switch to another language and I have to adjust the audio track on my computer to get it back to english. I also was once watching a movie and a random scene played with directors commentary. I usually format as a progressive stream and segment by chapter. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem without segmenting by title? (Version 0.0110a1)

MAGEESE I have been using this app for over 3 years (though it has been awhile) without any problems. I rip the audio (soundtrack) convert it and load it in my iTunes library. However, today just what you describe happened. General App 'unexpectedly' quit dialog box. Downloaded app again. Same result. I tried a few times then tried a different DVD. Voilá. OSEx stayed opened and the name of my DVD was in the title box. I tried a number of different DVDs - most work - a few don't. It seems that some (DVD production) companies have found a way of disabling OSEx? Maybe? If anyone knows how to remedy this problem, it would be appreciated. (Version 0.0110a1)

FREQUENTLY_ASKING_?UESTIONS great program, easy to use, only one problem: when I tried to decrypt a dvd (1 hour 47 minute movie) it came out as 4.9 GB (or 7.5 GB in DVD format) which doesn't fit on my 4.7GB DVD+Rs... Thanks! (Version 0.0110a1)

AIKOUSHA You most likely have a movie that is one of the following: 1. Superbit (uses a very high bitrate) 2. Has several embedded subtitles and/or languages. The only way to shrink those that aren't superbit, without a special program, is to remove non-used subtitles or languages. The other way to shrink any type is to use DVDRemaster or DVD2OneX (though I suggest if you use DVD2OneX, you go to the previous full numbered version, the current one sucks). There are other requantizers out there, but these two are the best for Macs. (Version 0.0110a1)

AIKOUSHA It doesn't have a logo. I'm not sure the developer wants one. The app window also hides itself if it isn't the fromtmost active app. Almost seems like stealth is the aim. If so, I don't mind. My primary use is to rip TV from my DVD-Recorder, and this is blazingly fast and easy. (Version 0.0110a1)

JLENNON314 This is one of those programs that I find indespensible. I mean, when it comes to ripping sound for loops, ripping video, and downloading individual chapters from DVD's, OSEx hands down beats any other program out there. Combined with FFMPegX, this is one of the best reasons to use a Mac. My only hope, is that they will Universalize this. Please, someone do this, as OSEx needs to continue to the Intel platform. CODES I read that the Finnish govt passed a law outlawing the use of such software to RIP encrypted DVD information. This is why the project has been discontinued. (Version 0.0110a1)

YANOKWA Is there a reason why I should use this instead of MacTheRipper? (Version 0.0110a1)

JLENNON314 osex is useful for programs like FFMpegX, because it can read the VOB files and extract audio, or video, and put those into whatever format you may want. There are also some DVDs that you just cannot rip from using MacTheRipper. So sometimes, OSEx is the only thing you can use. (Version 0.0110a1)

TONY AGUILA For a while now I had been using MacTheRipper because the latter has a "nicer" interface, more Mac-like. But now that I have purchased an iMac Core Duo, I find the MacTheRipper is failing miserably in ripping DVDs, while still working fine on my G5. So I tried my old copy of 0Sex and it works flawlessly under Rosetta. So if you are migrating over to the Mac-Intel camp, you will need this program. I don't see a real need for a Universal version, and don't expect it to come out, ever. Ripping speed is the same under Rosetta compared to running native on the G5. (Version 0.0110a1)
