MACMAN8 I would like to thank the developers for maintaining backward compatibility with Tiger in this application. Many developers have abandoned those of us who remained with the Tiger system instead of moving on with Leopard. It is nice to know that the developers of Leopard Cache Cleaner care about us too, and should I make the move to Snow Leopard when it arrives, I trust that i will be able to count on Leopard Cache Cleaner in the future. Thanks again. (Version 4.0.25)

ALBABE I have certain problems with this client... but I haven't really used any others to compare. I use it on a regular basis, but sometimes it seems insanely slow. I started it up to: Clean System Log Archives. On a 300 GB HD after Four hours it was still hanging in the last 2% of the Permissions mode. I quit it and started it again. Same thing. I ran the Apple Disc Utility for Permissions, which took around ten minutes... and then I tried LCC again. This time it took less than an hour and finally finished. MacGurl is right about the password. It takes quite a while after you type it in. I also tried to use the ClamAV Antivirus on my 300 GB drive and after 12 hours it still wasn't finished. I tried it again the next evening... same outcome. I don't find the Developer very accessible. He very rarely returns any emails to answer questions. I thought I had a good suggestion for him to have an Update mode in a pulldown... no answer. (Version 4.0.22)

MACGURL Once again this new version (4.0.22) bounced in the dock upon first start, would not force quit, and required a hard shutdown. I started up my Mac again and wanted to throw LCC away. Ah, but first one must launch it to deinstall its innards. This time LCC started up so I decided to accept the first crash as an anomaly and try some functions before I uninstalled. Acceptance of password is (always) followed by a 2 second wait. Why? The "Clean Finder" function stalled the app again, so I had to force quit through the finder (this time it worked), then restart the app, uninstall ClamX engine and uninstall LCC, and then trash, restart, and fix things with Onyx. It should be noted that "uninstall LCC" does NOT fully uninstall LCC, as the package receipt and .plist file were left behind. It should also be noted that 3 dots after a menu item (in most Mac apps) indicate a new window or menu of choices. Not so with LCC, as it goes right into the task without missing a beat. And why does the app's GUI seem dated? I know nothing about coding languages like RealBasic and Cocoa, but it doesn't fit with Leopard's own interface. And this is admittedly a minor point. But jerky barber-poles aren't reassuring, and there is NO progress bar at all on the "Clean Finder" function. It cleans the .DS_store files alright, but when is it done? I suppose one is reduced to guesswork. I sent an email to jlowrey@northernSW.com and it bounced back to me as "undeliverable: address does not exist." I don't think LCC is right for me until it gets an overhaul. It may work great for others. (Version 4.0.22)

ST00P!D M0NK3Y Yeah... I didn't have a wonderful run with it either. I think I'll stick with Onyx. =\ (Version 4.0.23)

COLOSSUS9 I used this app several times and it keeps damaging my ACLs on the start-up drive first, then the rest of the drives become effected. Including internal and external drives and made my machine incapable to boot from any drive attached to this machine. Basically, every drive had a lock on it and all ACL rights defaulted to "custom" instead of "read-write", "read" or "drop box". This only happened when I have installed this app, and I installed it 4 times. I had several techs look into this and we saw the damage to the ACLs happen simultaneously. We noticed it is when this app is installed. Even after we repaired my MacPro. We decided that this program is dangerous. Caveat Emptor. (Version 4.0.21)

ALBABE So, the last version wasn't to be used on 10.5.6? So... did I mess something up by using it??? (Version 4.0.20)

MACGURL I just ran 'Update LS Database' and the finder quit and would not restart. I was unable to quit LCC. I was unable to use 'option-cmmnd-esc'. I had to 'pull the plug' and then repair permissions and do a drive repair from my install disk. Not good. (Version 4.0.19)

BLULOO Perhaps there's something unique to your system. It works fine on my Mac. Just an FYI. (Version 4.0.20)

HELIOS9 When you select ClamX(in LCC) to virus scan your download folder the scan says "scanning internet system plugins folder", "checking widgets for viruses" and "checking desktop for viruses" but there's no indication that one's download folder is being scanned, so I guess download folder isn't, in fact, being scanned. Same issue in the previous version of LCC. No big deal, though; I've installed ClamX app itself and use that for my scanning needs. It will scan the download folder without issue. Other than that, LCC is really fine. (Version 4.0.17)

MACMAN8 Yes, I too love this application, but would like MacUpdate to correct one thing. If you read the entire information on LCC, it states, "while still maintaining backwards compatibility down to OS X 10.3." On MacUpdate, it states that OS 10.5 is required. Shouldn't this be changed to correctly reflect that users of Tiger (I use 10.4.11) or Panther, can still use LCC? I appreciate the developer making this program available to those of us who have not upgraded to Leopard, for various reasons. Again, thanks for a fine utility. (Version 4.0.17)

PERSON1229 I envy you for still being able to use Tiger. Anyway, your best bet is to check the website and see if there's a Tiger Cache Cleaner download. (Version 4.0.17)
