LAVANDULA  Since updating to the newest version, running permissions repair causes my fan to work overtime.

Have used it for years and this is the first time this has happened.

DAVEBARNES  I think Snow Leopard Cache Cleaner is great.

I had a directory/file in my Trash that I could not delete.

I tried everything over a period of 14 months.

I called AppleCare and spent an hour on the phone and could not delete the file.

I installed SLCC and deleted the file.

It was worth every penny.

BLUESTAR  Seems OK all-round, but when I "optimize files" it hangs the app and "command+period" won't stop it. It's indicated that the "application is not responding"... I'm afraid to force-quit in the middle of a file optimization... I can hear the drive working, so this is not good.

SOUTHPAWAMI  Caches are magic. To give a run down... I started using terminal to run periodics, flush dns cache, and permissions checks. You'd think that was everything... but I've had some odd problems along the way.... most fixed by permissions... or flushing dns cache or ipconfig... but some come along like today... "Battery Isn't Charging".... That battery was hanging around at 12%. 12%? Not too cool. If I knew the BSD terminal like the back of my hand... I might look at SLCC as just a way to not type the same command in again. But Deep Cleaning of Cache at System and User worked magic... and the restart afterwards gave me my battery charging again.

THEJAMALONG  I recently wrote a comment on SLCC. I would like to go on to say that it was indeed not SLCC slowing down my mac.It was a problem within another app,I no longer use.I have went on to purchase and use this and it is fabulous. My apologies to SLCC.

KENTR  This program slowed down my mac as well. I since deleted the entire system and restored from a backup. I wouldn't think a program like this would cause such a problem, but I will not be using it again. Onyx works just fine.

ORION MK. V  Never had a problem, however, if you clear all caches upon the next reboot your system will always run slower until new caches and info are created.

That said, while I haven't needed to use SLCC very much, Tiger Cache Cleaner saved my bacon way back when. To date each version remains a very robust way of performing a myriad of functions.

ALBABE  Just a Heads-Up here.

This is in regards to Leopard Cache Cleaner, not Snow Leopard Cache.

I've found that if I start this application and then do a Command H to hide the application while I work on something else... this ap stalls. It looks like it's working - the little sideways Barber Pole does what it does, but the ap just sits there... for hours.

I've tried this in 10.4.11 and 10.5.8 and the same thing happens.

JAZZICA  At least turn the icon upside-down. There are those of us who are scared of clowns.

STAR-AFFINITY  That's an interesting icon – I first thought it was a robotic clown of some sort with a blue sticker on his mouth with an ”X” on it. Like someone wanted him to be quite or something. :)

Then I saw it was a vacuum cleaner...

DONMONTALVO  I think the icon is a little "busy" :)

Would love to know exactly what caches are being cleaned. Without knowing, it would be hard to embrace this for any of our clients or home users.
