DESCRIPTION
Duover is a synchronization tool for files on multiple computers. Features include:
  • Synchronize multiple computers. Duover can access a remote folder using AppleShare and synchronize it with a local folder, or even with another remote folder.
  • Preserve Mac OS file information. When you synchronize, nearly all Mac OS file information, including resource forks and file type/creator codes, are preserved, along with Mac OS X?s longer filenames.
  • Scheduling. Duover taps into Mac OS X?s powerful job scheduling features, allowing you to synchronize on a variety of repeating schedules.
  • Preserve older files. For added safety, Duover allows you to save overwritten files to a backup directory before they are overwritten by newer versions.
  • Exclude files or folders. Prevent the synchronization of files/folders by name (for multiple files with the same name) or by path (to exclude one specific file or folder).
  • Multiple configurations. Manage and schedule multiple pairs of folders, each with its own settings.
  • Sync quietly. Whenever possible, Duover will execute your whole sync without stopping or pausing for errors, so you know you?ll be ready to pack up and go when it?s done. Errors with specific files are logged so you can check on them at your convenience. You can also choose the warning messages you want to see in Duover's preferences.
  • Schedule quietly. You don?t need to leave Duover open, or even to be logged in, for your schedules to run.

ANONYMOUS  Great app. One small issue though, which caused big problems on this end. After creating a scheduled sync, then later deleting it from Duover, it didn't remove the cron job and continued to sync those folders!

ANONYMOUS  This program has a couple of really useful features. It can access the UNIX backup and it can synchronize file changes, renames, deletions and so on. I registered the application, but since then I have found a major flaw. It is incredibly slow on larger jobs. My documents folder is 14GB and takes over 20 minutes to scan and sync. The free application called "SYNC" does this is a couple of minutes. If you want reliable backups, this is a good tool. If you want to get out of the office, look elsewhere or plan accordingly.

DANSROKA  A great little archiving program that takes nice avantage of OS X's UNIX underbelly. Let's you "set and forget" your backups, using cron to automatically run them in the background. I also love the ability to backup through a network. I have a laptop and a desktop computer on a wireless LAN, and I am able to have my laptop synchronize with the desktop every evening, hands-free. Too cool.

A couple interface anoyances (e.g, inability to duplicate folder settings) but overall a very cool program.

JEEPEE  Great and very promising! Looking forward to the final product! You can let it backup every minute/hour, there are not many backup programs who do that... Very easy to use! Good support too!
