DESCRIPTION
TigerLaunch is an easy-to-use and easy-to-configure application launcher for OS X. It displays an Apps menu at the top of your screen listing all your applications in alphabetical order — no matter what folder they appear in. You can easily configure it to exclude applications you rarely or never launch.

TigerLaunch allows you to be more selective about what apps are dock-worthy, so your dock doesn’t get so cluttered. It also makes it easier to launch apps that are buried in sub-folders, such as in the Utilities folder of your Applications folder. The source code is available.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.0.3:
  • Now a universal binary—runs on Intel and PowerPC Macs.
  • Removes the .app suffix that Tiger wants to add to app names. (Depending on your configuration.)
  • Now adds .xcodeproj files to the Projects menu. (The suffix changed since the last release of TigerLaunch.)
  • Fixed a bug where sometimes the table in the Configure window was empty.

NEALNT  I've been using this app on Leopard 10.5.7. Any one know if it will run under Snow Leopard?

AKROBAT  Still a good application.

What I like about this launcher is it's simplicity... no folders or menus or hot keys, which a lot of similar apps suffer from. TigerLaunch is simply a list of apps and their icons. Easy to configure, launch and use.

Have this on my eMac and just installed it on my MacBook running Leopard. Works flawlessly.

CARDBOARD CANARY  TigerLaunch has been a very nice way for me to extend the amount of programs I can easily access. Since my dock is pretty well filled up, it's nice to be able to use TigerLaunch to get to my lesser-used programs without having to dig into the Applications folder. At first, I overloaded it with applications, and it became a bit sluggish. However, when I lightened its load by removing programs that I almost never use, it sped up very nicely and now remains a part of my very small collection of startup applications.

GAZMAN  I've been looking for a replacement for 'my favorite things' seeing as that program is no longer being developed. The one thing this program needs to be able to replace it is a keyboard shortcut to be able to access it.

DARTHCUB  HimmelBar also lets you customize which programs are listed.

Though TigerLaunch's icon is better...

SEBASTIAAN  Just what I was looking for! I used Himelbar before I found TigeLaunch. I love the option to select which apps I want to have in the menu!

ANONYMOUS  I like it alot but know matter how many times I check or uncheck the apps to be selected, I keep getting 2 or more of same app icons - the refresh doesn't seem to do much but otherwise, it really like it! Thank you.

ANONYMOUS  This a great little app, but if your looking for alternate ways to launch then Dragthing 5 is the answer. I've also tried Atomic Beef (another menu launcher) and found they are about the same.

ANONYMOUS  10.2.8 -- Simple, brilliant. Sorry I just now found it. Fast enough, to me, that lack of grouping/categorization isn't really an issue.
