As well as an entirely new user interface, VPN Tracker 5 also features a greatly improved IPSec engine and a number of useful features for working within workgroups.

PIRX  The download page on equinux.com seems to loop back to itself. Not possible to download software.

JWEISBIN  I bought VPN Tracker Pro 5, I think it was $200. Well worth it. But they are charging $160 for this upgrade. Why so much? Given that they already announced that VPN Tracker 5 is compatible with Snow Leopard, why would I need this upgrade?

SANDERVL  Expensive but well-written and excellent support. Highly recommended if you play/work with a variety of VPN hardware.

MAHER  I bought it and it never did the job. I sent ticket, reports, all that the developper asked me to send, I tried different configurations, even different routers. Nothing works. Finally, I tried IPSecuritas which is absolutely FREE, and guess what, it WORKS for the first try. So I gave a last chance to VPN 5 and entered again the exact same settings, I have in IPSecuritas and nothing work again. I decided to stay with IPSecuritas. I asked for a refund and they said NO because I bought the soft for more than one month. I spent more than one month to toubleshoot it. I'm really disappointed. I learned something, ALWAYS TRY BEFORE YOU BUY

JANGLE  I really like the new interface of version 5 and it's speed for starting the connection. Way nicer than the cisco client. I just wish there was a menu item where you could start the connection from, so you didn't even have to start the app.

My company bought a bunch of licenses and everyone loves it.

HLIPPELT  I have been using this program for the last 2 years and it has worked flawlessly. I have been part of the beta for version 5 and have to say it is great. I have had 1 or 2 problems in the beginning (2 years ago with a watchguard), but that was solved on the mailing list. I cannot understand the bad ratings below. The documentation is fine for me and i haven't had any problems.

Interface is really nice now. I have tried other clients, but none was this easy and worked "out of the box".

Price is a bit high though...

MACUPDATE ADMIN  Go here:

http://www.equinux.com/us/products/support.html?pid=2

and click on the link there that asks the question "Are your products compatible with Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard)?"

You'll find this info:

"VPN Tracker 4 is not compatible with Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard), and due to fundamental changes in the operating system, we will not be able to patch this version. However, we have just entered the beta phase for VPN Tracker 5, and intend to invite a couple of current users of VPN Tracker 4 to test the new version. If you're interested in using VPN Tracker 5 on Leopard (or on any other supported system), please apply at this website."

TOMNIBUS  Yeah, thanks for responding! Yes, I checked the site and saw that now. :-D I just purchased the product on october 1 so I'm looking forward to the upgrade. I also applied for the beta program but I could also wait for version 5. Hopefully it will be soon.

THEFINALEOFSEEM  This may be a good VPN server/client combo, but VPN Tracker has utterly piss-poor documentation. You'd think they'd at least give you a decent walkthrough for connecting VPN Tracker Client to VPN Tracker Server, but you get an ancient version of that guide from version 2.x. I have tried for hours to get these two working and cannot get them to connect. The demo cutting the service off every three minutes only adds to the frustration. If this software actually had good documentation, I could recommend it, but the fact remains that these idiots can't even keep their manuals current, so how can you expect the software to work properly?
